G2a does it's job as an online intermediary as customers expect it to.
However in the rather rare cases that everything doesn't go smoothly, it becomes painfully apparent, that g2a struggles to keep the sites sellers responsible for their illegitimate and/or indifferent practices regarding customer and consumer rights, G2a evades its own responsibilities, and arguably even participates in these practices through unfair terms and conditions, which could not be considered fully binding (in the EU at least), if only someone had the time and energy to do something about it.
This is however all I have the free time to do.

Hidden fees and dark design patterns

Many years ago I bought a game code via G2A. Everything went fine, got the code quickly and everything worked. A few years later I notice a very small transaction on my card. Turns out that these criminals were taking a small fee every month. Some ridiculous protection fee or something. I try to cancel and get the money back, which is where the real fun begins. They made me jump through about 8 steps taking well over an hour to even cancel the "subscription". Dark design patterns were being used like swapping button locations, hiding information and doing everything in their power to make you cancel the cancellation process. The most fun was waiting for an email that can take up to an hour to send and is only valid for 3 minutes. I finally manage to cancel and I get a full refund via my bank. F*** these guys. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

FULL OF SCAMMERS. EVEN G2A it self scams. I buy things from them and the end result is my account being suspended. So now I have to get a refund from my bank. Never buy from g2a they will take your money and never give your items.

It's a casino, not a store.

Before I go on. There is something you need to understand. If you're buying keys from g2a your pirating software. You are using a product that the creators will not be paid for. That's what piracy is. Go ahead, kick the table and scream at the monitor of how wrong I am. But when it's all said and done, using this site makes you a pirate. It is what it is. You can hide as much as you want behind grey market this and grey market that. It makes no difference to the developers if you torrent the title or buy them from g2a. You're still ripping them off.

Now that I have gotten that out of the way here is how I approach this site and maintain a somewhat positive experience.

It's not a store, it's a casino. Dead keys are a thing and unless you have a seller that cares (which is doubtful). A dead key is just money lost.

Only spend what you're willing to lose. My cap is $20 per seller. It's less than the cost of lunch. I'm not going to get too bent if I end up burning a $20 on a dead key with a seller that could care less.

Only buy from the same seller once every month. This is a must when buying the random key cards. It lets the inventory cycle a bit before coming back for more. It also gives someone else a chance to get the dead key that is lurking about in the sellers inventory.

When I end up with a dead key. I'll put the seller's name in a G2A database I created and make sure to check it before buying again.

If you're going to buy the random key cards (a personal favorite of mine) do not buy the cheap ones. Stick to either diamond, vip, legendary or winter cards. Everything else isn't going to produce anything you're going to want to play (Premium and Elite do have their moments. But the hit rate isn't as consistent as the others)

Activate the keys as soon as you can. If you end up with a dead key, or a duplicate title contacting the seller asap is your best chance of getting the issue fixed. I doubt anything will come of it but it is your best chance.

With that said, enjoy the site there are some great deals to be had and even more so if you don't mind trying out older titles. Just keep in mind that it's a casino, not a store. You can't get your money back playing a bad hand in poker, so why would you expect anything different from this place?

G2A declined refund as seller does not have money back guarantee!

I purchase a digital game in which I believed it was listed as a steam key.
Upon purchase of the digital game I was provided a link, this link gave me a steam account log in details instead of a steam key.
After disputing this, the listing for the digital game got swiftly changed to a steam account instead of a steam key.
While disputing for a refund, the link was put on hold. But after the dispute was declined because the seller didn't have money back guarantee protection. The link no longer worked, so I could not even access or use the steam account log in.
After again disputing this, G2A closed the dispute with a sorry.
So I have no game and I have no refund.
I highly recommend to anyone thinking of using G2A NOT TO USE THEM. If there is any issues with your purchase, you will not get your money back. PLEASE STAY AWAY!

In response to G2A's reply. Yes the link was taken off of hold once the dispute was declined. But still doesn't change the fact that the link no longer works. You have taken my money and I have nothing to show for it.
So to sum up this situation now, you have taken my money, I have no game. So in result of this you have stolen my money!
I am now in contact with Citizens Advice Bureau about this situation and I will also be reporting this to econsumer.gov also!
Plus, regardless whether there is still a conversation window still open. I have already been told they aren't going to help further. So this is meaningless!

This information is clearly provide on the product page. The listing of the product wasn't changed either since your order is linked to the purchase for the steam account in our system as well.

When it comes to your order status, indeed it was put on hold automatically once you reported the purchase to PayPal. However, the status was changed as soon as the case was closed.

I want a refund because i already contact the support, create a ticket, do everything and they keep saying please conct the support via email but i send 10 emails with proof of transaction ,bank account, photos and 10 friends also don't receive any codes or purchase. So now i will be serious if you don't send do a refund of my transaction of 0.004 bitcoins i will seriously contact the police and deposit a conplain with my 10 freinds and othes guys with the same problem in twitter we are around 90 and we all going to deposit a conplain in seven days. G2A.com scam site

This was the first and last time trying this website. I purchased 2 blizzard cards with PayPal and was immediately told it would be refunded for unknown reasons. The problem is the website G2A.com took my money and never refunded it after 4 days. Their terms says up to 3 days. I contacted them and they give me a run around blaming the seller or their processor experts hello-at-zen.com. No one is willing to help. Don't trust this website and find another to do business with! over $70 stolen as the cards value was $50 and $20 plus fees. Total was $76.33.

I would like to give an update, 5/23/22 This transaction is still pending inside my PayPal account causing me problems, unresolved.

bad company don't use !!!!!!

the one and only response you get from g2a is we are a market place and its on the seller, i bought a xbox live key for my daughter bought 2 of them as first never worked only for the second one not to work, then payed for xbox live sub directly from Microsoft and told them also sent proof in screenshots that didn't work and all they kept saying was send the seller more proof this is a scam stay away from them

will just recommend you get your bank to do a charge back for each time they scam you

The account I tried the codes on was a new account and g2a would lie about everything on here to cover them selves they are unhelpful and useless when it comes to trying to get your money back ! Scam site stay clear

Stole my money and blocked me afterwards

I bought a Playstation 5 on their site from the seller Badgameswholesale. After ordering I saw that the would ship it from outside the EU. Tried the day after to cancel the order. G2A said it was between me and the seller and they could not help. The seller didn't respond for a whole month where the after said, it was too late to cancel. But I haven't received any mail of the order was being shipped. After several weeks I filed a fraud case with the bank and first afterwards the sent "the package". It never arrived and I could not get a refund. I was sick to my stomach in 2 full months, where I tried several times to get help from G2A. No response.

After 6 months the banked ruled in my favour that it was fraud and refunded the money (from their personal money, not G2A or Badgameswholesale). After this I noticed that G2A, without saying anything, not even hearing me side of the story, banned me from their site. I have the last week wrote to them and asked them why, they wouldn't tell. I have a mountain of screenshots, were it blatantly proofs, that I have been scammed. They would not see it; they didn't even consider it. So now I have a banned account and G2A have both my money and my Plastation 5.

To G2A. I will gladly showcase all the screenshot and documents, so you can see how badly, it went. But I am of that conviction, that you have your money and therefore do not care. But, again, I would be happy to be proofed wrong. The last week you wouldn't even give me the reason why, I have been banned. I would also settle for that reason.

AVOID!!! Steam key revoked after a couple of months!

I have bought Back 4 Blood Ultimate edition last December from G2A seller that had Excellent tag on his profile and yesterday, Steam revoked my key because of issue with the key.

G2A support was not helpful at all, they were trying to get me to go in circles, contact seller directly, even though I said I can not because I can not see serial code anymore on my dashboard profile and that is mandatory information before you can create chat with seller.

They ignored this and told me that they can help me changing product to my other account???

After that, I have opened PayPal dispute and waiting to hear from them.

AVOID these scam market artists!
They are frauds!
G2A Support won't help you at all and will make you go in circles.

Edit 1:

G2A seller replied and told me full refund is not available because order is in status On Hold.
Why is that relevant to me, when I asked for a working key or refund? I bought this game last December and these thieves are giving out template replies left and right because they are protected by G2A and continue to scam people.

I will not back down and will wait for additional reply from seller and PayPal.

AGAIN, I REPEAT, DO NOT BUY FROM G2A!!!

I must emphasize that G2A support was not helpful at all, and seller (Gotradomkey) is still selling on G2A.

if i could give this company a zero I would they are the biggest scammers in the internet and the money back guarantee is a scam they ask you to get a police report with a stamp which they know is not possible as all internet crime in the UK are dealt with by Action Fraud and they no such stamp or will they deal with a merchant based overseas no wonder the fake seller and them work on a site and like this the scammer would not last one second on ebay or amazon they protected on here and they hide behind the fake seller do not waste your time just go straight to your card issuer

They are protecting scammers

I bought a Steam key from G2A for my friend. 8 days later Steam revoked the key due to "non-payment." I contacted the seller on the platform and got nowhere for 7 days. I filed a money back guarantee claim, and had to wait an additional 3 days to get an answer of "file a police report." ALL of the reviews that have come in since I bought the key have been people complaining of the same issue as me, yet you want me to file a police report so you can "protect the seller from fraud?" You say 99% of keys work on your site, but more than half of the ones from this seller that you host on your site comes back as non functional--statistically meaning they are not following that trend and are scamming people! In an effort to keep scammed money, you then make it harder for people to get their money back. All you are doing is encouraging fraud, not getting rid of it. I'm never using them again, and neither should you.

UPDATE: G2A banned my account for no reason that I know of, and the message that comes up when I try to log in says it won't be reinstated. Yeah, definitely never using them again. Going to use my bank to hopefully remove the charges, especially since that is BS.

There's a Conversation Module where buyers and sellers can interact with each other to amend the problem. Please be advised that G2A does not interfere between buyers and sellers in complaints. It is a sole responsibility of the seller to resolve their customers issues.

If the seller is not able to assist, you can use Money Back Guarantee program and get a refund.  Upon this program you need to provide the paperwork from the appropriate authority. This is the best way to ensure safety and prevent any scam attempt from both users - seller and buyer.

Key got revoked due to fraudulent payment

Let me tell and advise everyone to NOT buy from G2A.

I made a purchase from here and the key got revoked 10 months later by steam due to fraudulent payment. G2A allows and harbors these sellers on their platform, even after you provide them UNDENIEBABLY proof. The seller is still happily selling there and who knows how many more people are going to be subjected to these scams where G2A also seems to be playing a role in it.

Response to G2A: I am not going to play your game. G2A cannot be trusted and they are part of the scam. It can be seen how absolutely nothing is done against it, also how they come up with some childish "police report". Never seen this before even by other platforms. If you want people to file a case you have to disclose information first, which you won't. Do not buy from G2A and report them to Paypal so they get aware they are using their service to conduct illegal activities. They will also be reported to the ACM.

SCAM WEBSITE

This website is a scam. I showed them screenshots about me getting scammed by a seller, and saying one of the keys was a duplicate and they automatically closed the ticket without me getting anything.

Thanks for the review. I carefully checked your communication with the seller and our MBG team. It appears that you purchased the same product twice and as a result received two different keys. Since both of them were displayed it was not possible to refund the order. Once a key gets displayed, it's no longer possible to return it to a seller since they cannot resell such code again. There's no guarantee such key is still valid.

When it comes to MBG program, it applies only if you received a non-working key which means that the error comes up upon activation attempt. I hope for your understanding on this matter.

If you've been ripped off by G2A then beware!! There money back guarantee is bs... Seller sold me a bad key and has yet to refund me, 7 weeks have passed and support is useless.. Even after I sent proof from Microsoft support that the seller sold me a bad key.. G2A wants me to make a POLICE report on the seller before G2A will give me a refund... WTH!!!
All while the seller continues to sell on the site.... G2A is a big scam and I will make sure everyone I can is informed!! I just reported it to PayPal and will get my refund that way..
